Different Psychological Feeling?

This one is for the ladies– a question posed by a curious male:
Is there a different psychological feeling, depending on where your panties happen to be during a spanking?
Once, on a forum, I read an account posted by a young woman who had married a much older man. Frankly, some of the situations she related disturbed me; I had to remind myself to be impartial. She was, after all, an adult.
One thing she shared stayed with me. She recounted how her husband seemed to know that having her panties down, but not off, made the experience worse. For her, it made her feel like a child being punished.
There is a certain vulnerability ( and for many) a rush of arousal, as they come down. But do you feel more exposed having them at your knees, as opposed to just below the cheeks? The opposite? Or is it worse having them off completely?
What about standing in the corner with your bottom on display, and panties bunched at your ankles? What are the emotions that come into play?
Submissiveness and vulnerability are probably a given for most. But do some find these scenarios humiliating? Too much at times?
The exact opposite? Erotic? Scintillating? Arousing?

In my mind I love the idea of having my panties taken down and left in place just above the knees. That seems very humiliating and vulnerable. In reality, all my spankings take place with no panties (or anything else) covering me. So… I’m really not a good example. Glad I found your blog! I don’t think I commented before, but I’ll be back. Personally; panties just under the cheek is more for casual play or with people who are not my boyfriend.
When my boyfriend spanks me, however, when they are around my knees I do feel like a little girl. It’s rather humiliating…at least much more so when they are off–when they are off, it’s more ‘naughty’ and is much more sensual and usually leads to more then just the spanking.

Corner time — sexy! On panties, I agree largely with TK (above), at least in theory; in practice around knees just irritates/distracts; around thighs (a little further down than just below the cheeks) makes me feel it most / feel most ‘punished’ (yet it’s also the most exciting – even just to think about now!).
No panties is less serious. After the corner, with panties still on but down, it’s nice to get to take them off finally and be spanked again without them, and differently.
